Sandpiper spreads its wings in Melton

Published: 27/5/08

We have invested £2.5 million in creating this charming neighbourhood pub on Melton Business Park, hoping to appeal to all the family.

“We’ve put a lot of work into creating a relaxed and comfortable family atmosphere at The Sandpiper,” explained manager David Walsh. “Everything from the kitchen to the soft furnishings is brand new.”

The Sandpiper mixes traditional British pub decor, such as open log fires and oak panelling, with contemporary furnishings, to create a friendly and welcoming setting.

“It starts from the moment you walk in,” added David. “There’s a mouth-watering aroma of fresh food, with a chicken rotisserie on the bar in front of you. The menu includes traditional pub dishes such as steak and ale pie, or beer-battered fish and chips, together with various grills, fish dishes, vegetarian dishes and pasta.”

Not to mention a wide range of daily specials cooked fresh to order at both lunchtime and evenings. While on a Sunday, you can enjoy a tasty, classic roast dinner with a choice of lamb, beef or chicken with all the trimmings.

As well as its fine food, the Sandpiper prides itself on having some of the finest cask ales around, including Marston’s Pedigree and Jennings Cumberland, as well as a weekly guest ale and an extensive wine list that includes champagnes for those special occasions.

On top of all that, the children’s play area makes The Sandpiper a really family-friendly venue.
